Brigant Department of Informatics Partners with CERN on Quantum Optimization Frameworks
The Department of Informatics at the University of Brigant has entered a three-year collaborative agreement with CERN's Quantum Technology Initiative to develop hybrid algorithms for large-scale data processing.
The project will deploy Brigant's proprietary quantum error-mitigation software on quantum hardware testbeds in Geneva. Dr. Eleanor Vance, lead investigator at Brigant, noted that simulating multi-particle interactions requires algorithmic architectures beyond traditional high-performance computing clusters.
Master's and doctoral students in the MSc Computer Science and PhD Informatics programmes will have direct access to CERN data streams for thesis research, with fully funded summer residencies in Switzerland.
